Mediator Skills Refresher: Back to the Basics

WHEN: Thursday, March 21, 2019 (8:30 am – 4:30 pm; lunch on your own from 12 noon – 1 pm). Please allow yourself enough time to find parking so we may start promptly at 8:30 am. **PLEASE register ONLY if you have completed a 40-hr Beginning Mediation Course.**
Seating is limited. If the course is sold out, please add yourself to the waitlist to be considered if/when a seat becomes available.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Whether you have just finished your beginning class or have mediated a little or a lot, please join us for a day of review and practice. We invite you to “refresh” some of the elemental concepts and skills key to effective Mediation practice. We will explore neutrality, interventions and the skills of listening, acknowledging, questioning and reframing.

INSTRUCTOR: Cynthia Olson is a leader and innovator in the field of mediation, facilitation, interpersonal communication, and dispute resolution, with particular application to workplace settings. Cynthia has worked extensively with all levels of government, large corporations, small businesses, community volunteers and grade school conflict managers. She is the former Director of The Albuquerque Mediation Center and is responsible for creating and managing several successful programs, including a Court-based mediation project, ADR Conference, and several in-house conflict management systems. She enjoys facilitating organizations as they transition through downsizing or structural change. Cynthia is a gifted and internationally recognized educator with over 30 years of experience; she is the owner and principal trainer of Cynthia Olson & Associates, LLC.
